Disposable PP plastic cups are single-use containers primarily manufactured from plastic raw materials such as polypropylene (PP) and polycarbonate (PC). Their production adheres to the standards outlined in the *National Food Safety Standard: Plastic Materials and Articles in Contact with Food* (GB 4806.7-2016) and *Plastic Drinking Cups* (QB/T 4049-2021); notably, the use of PC material is prohibited in the manufacture of plastic cups intended for infants and young children. Products are required to bear labels indicating the material composition, production license number, and the "QS" mark; common areas of non-compliance identified during inspections include sealing performance and impact resistance.
Disposable PP plastic cups are subject to specific requirements regarding heat resistance and low-temperature tolerance. When purchasing, consumers should inspect the cups to ensure they are free of impurities, odors, and susceptibility to deformation. Cups must be cleaned and disinfected prior to use; if used to hold fruit juices or carbonated beverages, they should be washed promptly thereafter. Furthermore, any cup exhibiting a rough surface texture or stains should be replaced immediately. In regions such as Hainan, administrative penalties are imposed for the use of disposable, non-degradable plastic cups made from PP material, in accordance with the *Regulations of the Hainan Special Economic Zone on Prohibiting Disposable Non-degradable Plastic Products*.
